The proposed changes to the Dogs on Beaches and Park policy have been made against recommendations by Council Officers to Council and without adequate transparency and community consultation. On the basis of a few complaints Council has proposed this unfair policy. We remained unheard because we were happy with the status quo but now it’s time to band together and show Council that we oppose these unfair changes. There are enough beaches to share. We have enough space to show tolerance and accept that not all activities suit everyone. There are plenty of dog free beaches – we are just asking to keep the few allocated off leash beaches. Join the Community Walk, write letters to council and fill out the submission forms. Council needs to hear what the larger community thinks.
