Local Veterinarian Rick Prowse spoke at the last group meeting about how we interact with our animals in Australia and how it sets us apart from many other countries in the world. Wollongong residents have a high percentage of dog ownership – 40% by Council reports. This speaks of the importance we place in our dogs. We form a tight bond with our pets and they become part of the family. They are there to comfort us, keep us company, protect us and join in the daily activities of family life. They don’t have a voice, but we do – keep our off leash beaches!
